Architectural sketches and drawings made by Boring while a student at the architecture program of the School of Mines at Columbia University, 1886-1887, and at the Ecole de Beaux-Arts in Paris, 1885-1890, with miscellaneous related programs, invitations, and lists of photographic negatives; sketches and miscellaneous correspondence made by Boring while travelling in England, Switzerland, France, Italy, and Spain with Edward Lippincott Tilton, Austin Willard Lord, and James Bright (some of Boring's sketches are tracings of their work); a scrapbook of sketches, 1886-1889, made by Boring while a student at Columbia, the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, and while travelling, with miscellaneous clippings, printed material, and blueprints are also included; and miscellaneous early programs and printed materials from the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, Ecole Nationale et Speciale de Beaux-Arts, and the Royal Institute of British Architects, 1859-1891. Photographs of projects by Boring alone and in partnership with Edward L. Tilton as Boring and Tilton, circa 1900-1912. Projects depicted include the Ellis Island Immigration Station, Jacob Tome Institute in Port Deposit, Maryland, St. Agatha's School in New York City, and others.
